So, as many of you who keep up with me may already know.. I have recently lost a good friend of mine..
Hayden Sterling Rex.
There is so much to be said about Hayden that I could honestly go on for hours. This post might be a little overwhelming and confusing to readers, but I am just going to write down a few of my random thoughts about the whole situation and tell everyone some memories with Hayden, and what an amazingg boy he truly was.(:
I can honestly say that Hayden was one of the most fun friends that I ever had the joy of being around. He was always so full of life and ready to go out and do something wild and crazy. He had that sort of charm to him that you couldn't find in a lot of guys and he was definitely very appealing to the ladies, and I know many of them would agree with me about this one.(: He ALWAYS had girls chasing after him and fighting over him. What a stud.. what a stud! Hayden treated EVERY girl like she should be treated, and that is a lesson that many guys I hope learned from him, too. It's not everyday that you find a boy who will still open doors for you and walk you to your door, or open a door. It's the little things in life that matter most, and Hayden certainly cherished those little things to a T.
Some of the best memories that I have with Hayden are of him doing what he loves to do most.. playing his drums in his basement or at some random show that him and Jade and Oliver put together at some place. I think that watching him play the drums was a great memory mostly, because you could tell how much he loved it just by watching him, and he was amazingg at it, too.
I can remember a time when Coda was still here, too and a bunch of us went to Coda's house and got this sofa chair that had ski's on the bottom of it. I remember thinking.. now what in the World have these crazy boys put together this time, and what kind of dangerous event are we going to be doing today?! (I loved that those boys gave me that crazy/fun sense of wonder though I can't lie!) We ended up pulling each other from behind Oliver's ford in the chair. We definitely got a lot of laughs and videos through the whole thing.
There are soo many random memories with Hayden, but my all time FAVORITE memory is the time that Kelsey, Sarah, and I road tripped it to Randolph to hangout with him at Clayson's house. He was OFF the walls hyper when we showed up and running around the house, playing the drums and just being the crazy boy that we all know and love. The thing that made it so memorable though was him dancing to "boots with the furr" like a hick and screaming like a little girl and running from Clayson's dog that was chasing him and then getting up on the counter so the dog wouldn't get him.
I can honestly say Hayden brought so much joy to my life and there is not many people who can bring such an unordinate amount of joy to one person's life.
I don't know or even understand why his time to go had to be so soon and before we were done making so many memories, but I do know that his mission in life was complete, because if he could bring so much joy to someone like me who didn't see him nearly as much as his family and really close friends, then I can't even imagine the impact he had on all of them. Anyone who knew Hayden was blessed and I hope everyone who does know him realizes this. It's not everyday that you can meet someone so special and have them come into your life and show you exactly how you should be treated as a person and how you want to treat others.. and that is only a small portion of lesson one that I learned from Hayden. I wish you were still here and that I would get a text or a call from you tomorrow saying that there is some crazy thing going on in Randolph that you would like Kels and I to come to, and I wish I would get a call or text saying you were going to be in Evanston tonight and that you wanted to hangout with Kels and I. We miss you so much that it seems unreal..
And to you Hayden;; Thanks for always being the amazingg boy that you were. You probably never realized how much of an impact you had on soo many people's lives, until now. I can only hope that you are having an amazingg time up there in Heaven, with Coda. I bet you two are riding some badass hills everyday, and you can't forget jam time, too!(: I'm sure you also fit some time in for crazy times like cliff jumping. I was scared with I went to Birgess creek jumping of that tiny cliff just the other day.. and you used to do the HUGE ones!(:
Like I said I could go on all day long about many memories and thoughts about this amazingg boy, but all I can say to finish this post is R.I.P. Hayden Sterling Rex.. your presence will truly truly TRULY be missed.. and I can't wait until the day that we meet again. I love you forever and always and I hope that you will watch down on and serve as a guardian angel to all your family, friends, and loved ones as we journey through the rest of our lives.
